Welcome to Palm Springs, FL

Palm Springs is a village within Palm Beach County, Florida, and is part of the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton-Boynton Beach MSA. The land comprising most of Palm Beach County was first purchased for settlement by tycoon and railroad developer Henry Flagler, who, in the late 19th century, established the town of West Palm Beach as a community for the servants employed at two of his grand hotels. The region developed quickly, primarily as a tourist destination that benefited from Flagler’s Florida East Coast Railway. As the state grew in reputation, people began to permanently settle, which is reflected in the Florida land boom of the 1920’s. As West Palm Beach and Miami rivaled as cultural centers of southeast Florida, new residential communities began cropping up to accommodate the area’s influx of residents. The village of Palm Springs saw development after 1957, when 2.5 square miles—including 700 acres of dairy farm—were chartered for the new community.

Today Palm Springs has a population of nearly 14,000 people. The village is predominantly residential, but is self-sufficient with its own commercial center that includes retail shops, restaurants, theaters and various services. The village has a quiet, small-town atmosphere, but residents of Palm Beach have the thrills of the city right at their fingertips. Palm Springs is conveniently situated close to many of southeast Florida’s great locations, such as Lake Worth, Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale. And for that exciting weekend getaway, the fabulous city of Miami is only 70 miles away! Palm Springs is a great place to raise a family; with its gorgeous landscape and moderate climate, the region lends itself to year round outdoor fun for the kids. The village is part of the Palm Beach County School District, and Palm Springs itself has three public schools and one private school.
