Residing in Perdido Key, Florida

A narrow, 16-mile strip of land, Perdido Key, Florida is an unincorporated area just west of Pensacola and east of Orange Beach, Alabama. Construction of the Intracoastal Waterway in the early 1930s changed this peninsula into a barrier island that now boasts a greater-than-average share of natural settings; more than half of the land is protected by state or federal park systems.

Homes here are pleasantly scattered among the sand dunes, sea oats and other beach vegetation, and plenty of wildlife can be viewed from windows and porches facing any direction. Beautiful beach homes mingle with duplexes and small condominium buildings as well as a handful of luxurious, towering complexes. The uncluttered setting and fresh sea air allows residents to feel as if they are on vacation year-round, yet employment, shopping and recreation opportunities are very close by.
