The Community of Plantation, FL

Plantation, Florida is the 4th largest municipality in Broward County – nearly 23 square miles. It is conveniently located to major interstates, airports and Port Everglades. Founded in 1953, this city has grown into a residential and business oriented community. The extraordinary combination of upscale residential living, thriving corporate businesses, variety of restaurants, and retail resources makes Plantation a unique place to live.

There are over forty parks providing a wide choice of recreational activities. Our beautifully landscaped streets and common areas are recognized throughout the state for their natural beauty. The city has received the prestigious “Tree City USA” award for the past twenty-eight years and is one of only 503 cities in the country to be awarded the “Tree City Growth Award”.

There are major hospitals and medical facilities within the city, including a regional hospital. Plantation schools have a tradition of academic excellence and offer educational opportunities for all ages.

Annual events such as “Art in the Park”, the Holiday Parade, Celebrate Plantation and Concert in the Park help bring out families and friends to enjoy their city. The Schacknow Museum, Helen Hoffman Library, and the Plantation Historical Museum provide cultural and educational experiences for the city’s residents.

Plantation provides a well-balanced living and working community. It’s easy to see why it has been recognized as one of the “100 Best Communities for Young People."
