Entertainment in Sunrise, FL

Sunrise, Florida is not only a city full of rewarding careers and excellent educational opportunities, it is also a city full of sophistication, world-class shopping and dining at Sawgrass Mills Mall, and fun attractions for all ages. The cultural hubs of Sunrise are the Sunrise Civic Center and the BankAtlantic Center; the Sunrise Civic Center features a 300-seat theater, an art gallery, and even an athletics club and aquatic complex, while the BankAtlantic Center serves a dual purpose as the home of the Florida Panthers NHL team and as the second largest entertainment venue in the nation. In the ten years since its construction, the BankAtlantic Center has welcomed such internationally acclaimed performers as Andrea Bocelli, Paul McCartney, Madonna, and Elton John. The venue also features club rooms for parties and events, a popular sports bar, and the 3,000-seat Sinatra Theatre.

In addition to the Sunrise Civic Center and BankAtlantic Center, Sunrise offers attractions and recreation for the whole family to enjoy. From Wannado City—a unique city themed playground where children can role play and learn about more than 250 professions—to the Sawgrass Sanctuary 20-acre park, there is always something to do in Sunrise, indoors and out. There are two beautiful Sunrise golf courses—the Springtree Golf Club and the Sunrise Country Club—as well as a soccer club and the Sunrise Tennis Club, featuring 11 Hydrocourt clay courts, a clubhouse, and more. Sunrise is home to an abundance of parks, playgrounds, and municipal swimming pools that are perfect for enjoying the warm Florida sunshine. And although Sunrise is inland, the city is only minutes away from the best Fort Lauderdale beaches on Florida’s gorgeous Atlantic Coast. No matter what your outdoor passion might be, the city of Sunrise has a way to nourish it.
