Welcome to Farmingdale, NJThe borough of Farmingdale is located in Monmouth County, New Jersey, just 60 miles south of New York City and 68 miles northeast of Philadelphia. A quiet community not far from the Jersey Shore, Farmingdale has much to offer growing families and individuals who want the best of both worlds--a rural, small-town environment with easy access to several major urban centers and all Monmouth County attractions. The borough boasts a historic Main Street with restaurants and specialty shops, as well as peaceful and safe residential neighborhoods. Farmingdale is served by Farmingdale Elementary School (K-8) and nearby Howell High School.
One of the benefits of living in Farmingdale, NJ is that the borough is surrounded by several parks and recreation areas. Farmingdale residents have ample opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors at the Allaire State Park, the Manasquan River, and the Manasquan County Reservoir; all of which offer hiking and biking trails, boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, and camping. Allaire State Park also features a little bit of Monmouth County history, with the 19th-century ironmaking town, Allaire Village, and antique steam trains on Pine Creek Railroad. Overall, Monmouth County boasts over 30 parks, greenways, wildlife habitats, and recreation areas; as well as the famous Jersey Shore beaches that offer great swimming, surfing, boating, and gorgeous ocean views. Farmingdale residents also have access to more than eight golf courses in the area, including the elegant Eagle Oaks Golf Club, featuring a championship 18-hole course designed by Jack Nicklaus and John Miller.
