Welcome to Federalsburg, MD

Federalsburg is located in Caroline County on the banks of the Marshyhope Creek, a tributary of the 30-mile-long Nanticoke River. The town is considered to be in the heart of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, but it is still within reasonable distance from job centers like Washington, D.C. and Baltimore and retail centers like Delaware’s outlet malls. Many families choose to live in Federalsburg because of its quiet, safe streets and its modern elementary school. And such local annual events as the All-American Soapbox Derby and the Christmas Parade are enjoyed by many of Federalsburg real estate owners and visitors alike.

Although this modest town is home to just 2,600 people, several major employers are located on Federalsburg real estate. These include General Mills, Maryland Plastics, Solo Cup, and Overnite Transportation. Yet agriculture is still big business here, as Federalsburg real estate remains fairly rural. This also allows for ample outdoor recreational opportunities, such as hiking along the Marshyhope Creek, horseback riding on Idylwild Farm’s 25 miles of trails, and boating at the Federalsburg Recreation Park and Marina. History buffs, meanwhile, can appreciate Federalsburg long and impressive heritage dating back to the late 1700s. Whatever your passion, Federalsburg real estate – with its access to both the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean and its relaxed small-town atmosphere – is a great place to consider when relocating.
