Welcome to Forest Park, OH

“Positioned for Progress” is an apt descriptive moniker for the City of Forest Park, a vibrant area 14 miles north of downtown Cincinnati. After World War II, Warner-Kanter Corporation acquired over 3,800 acres of undeveloped land adjacent to the Village of Greenhills and began to develop a planned community that was to become Forest Park. Incorporated as a Village in 1961, then as a City in 1968, it is currently the third largest municipality in Hamilton County. Its government overseen by its City Manager and City Council is committed to great quality of life for its residents. There is an excellent Public Safety Department with a strong Community Services Division, and an active Recreation Department. There is also an Economic Development Office, which is unique for a City of this size.

Residents of Forest Park have a lot to choose from in terms of housing, employment, community amenities and local attractions. Crisscrossed by main thoroughfares such as Northland Boulevard, Waycross Road, Winton Road and Kemper Road, Forest Park offers single-family neighborhoods of varying ages and styles, plus apartment and condo communities, all complemented by four municipal parks and greenspace. Easy access by I-275 to I-75 and I-71 makes Forest Park convenient to both work and play around Greater Cincinnati. It also enjoys a robust commercial life with Cincinnati Mills Mall plus many other businesses, eateries and retail establishments throughout the community.

Forest Park has its own Senior Center plus recreational fields and courts for organized sports. It is adjacent to Winton Woods Park, maintained by the Hamilton County Park District, whose nearly 2,500 acres offers many opportunities for recreation, including a 188-acre lake, an educational farm, a lodge, 2 golf facilities and a campground. Forest Park's excellent combination of hospitality, diversity, convenience and services makes it indeed an area “Positioned for Progress”!
