Conveniently located near downtown Indianapolis, Fort Benjamin Harrison residents enjoy an abundance of family friendly attractions, music and theatre venues, plus endless shopping and dining. For outdoor recreation, the stars of the Fort Benjamin Harrison community are the Fort Golf Resort and the Fort Harrison State Park. In the past decade, the Fort Golf Resort has been frequently ranked by Golf Digest as one of Indiana’s top ten public golf courses; and the challenging Pete Dye design showcases the rolling hills and forested scenery. Likewise, the natural beauty of the Fort Harrison State Park is the perfect backdrop for every outdoor activity, from hiking and jogging to ice fishing and even horseback riding. The base’s former VIP housing and Officer’s Homes have become available to the public for overnight lodging, but otherwise the Fort Harrison State Park is primarily for day use only.
