Welcome to Fort Lee, VA

Fort Lee is a military haven with a population of over 7,000 military residents and their families. Located in the tri-cities are of the state, and about twenty miles southeast of Richmond, Fort Lee is a convenient and friendly place to raise a family. Fort Lee is surrounded by Prince George, Dinwiddie and Chesterfield counties.

Fort Lee itself is named for General Robert E. Lee, and is home to the United States Army Post. The Quartermaster Center and School and the Army Logistics Management College trains 24,000 students a year. While the city is home to mostly military personnel, roughly 2,300 families live off-post. Fort Lee boasts five command stations, and is responsible for more than 225 million of civilian and military payroll entering into the local economy. A recent realignment closure will bring seven more major Army units to the area, boasting the economy even more!

Along with being the home to the base, Fort Lee hosts two museums. The US Army Women’s Museum features a gift shop, memorial garden and a learning center for adults and children alike. A number of other perks in the area include theaters, great restaurants and family parks and shopping opportunities.

Fort Lee is rapidly gaining importance within its surrounding communities and throughout the state of Virginia. Real estate in the area includes homes for many incomes, with many options including single family homes, townhouses and apartments for sale within the area. The community bond of Fort Lee is truly something special. The military families of the community share a special bond that creates a welcoming experience for anyone relocating to the area.
