Living in Franklin, OH

The town of Franklin, Ohio is a growing residential area that is central to both Cincinnati and Dayton, was once a paper manufacturing center. It was established in 1796 and incorporated in 1814. Housing here ranges from starter homes to new, luxury residences. The Mackinaw Historic District showcases mansions built in the early 1800s by wealthy industrialists. A 65-acre community park offers ball fields, a playground, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, and a running track. There are smaller parks, a nine-hole public golf course and a public library. The city provides real estate tax abatement for new construction and several incentives such as Rural Enterprise Zone abatement. Franklin celebrates Labor Day with the yearly River Days Festival.
