Welcome to Dublin, GA

The city of Dublin, GA is located in Laurens County, approximately 135 miles southeast of Atlanta and 117 miles west of Savannah and the Atlantic Coast. Its closest big city is Macon, GA (population 94,000). Incorporated by the Georgia Assembly in 1812, Dublin was largely settled by Irish immigrants; in fact, the city was named by one of its first citizens—Jonathan Sawyer—in honor of his homeland capital of Dublin, Ireland.

Today Dublin boasts a population of over 16,000, and serves as the governmental seat of Laurens County, offering a thriving economy, wide commercial base, and a warm, spirited community. Residents of Dublin take pride in their city’s small-town atmosphere, Southern hospitality, and high quality of life that provides a perfect environment for growing families. Dublin is served by Dublin City Schools and Laurens County Schools—together offering three high schools, three middle schools, and six elementary schools. Also within Dublin are the Trinity Christian School and the Heart of Georgia Technical College.
