One of the city’s local claims to fame is its month-long St. Patrick’s Festival, a more than 30 year old tradition during which the community gathers for a parade, races, arts & craft fairs, food, and a long list of Irish celebrations throughout March. The Christ Episcopal Church of Dublin is actually home to “the World’s Largest Pot of Irish Stew,” cooked up annually just for the event. For outdoor recreation in central Georgia’s mild, enjoyable climate, Dublin and Laurens County offers two challenging golf courses—the Riverview Park Golf Course and the Green Acres Golf Club—as well as the Hugh M. Gillis Public Fishing Area and kid-friendly Stubbs Park and Playground.
