Things To Do In Roswell Georgia

Some of Roswell's most breathtaking attractions are without a doubt its antebellum mansions. These stately manors were once home to some of Roswell's most important and wealthy residents, but are now open to the public. Just a few of these homes include Barrington Hall, Bulloch Hall, and Smith Plantation. All are part of Roswell's Historic District.

Also found in the Historic District of Roswell is the Town Square and shops, Roswell Visitor's Center, a Presbyterian church dating back to 1840, Roswell Fire Museum, and Old Roswell Cemetery. All of these things are considered must-see attractions.

With 16 miles of trails that wind their way throughout the city, Roswell is the perfect place for a bike tour. A leisurely walk or bike ride along the Chattahoochee Trail, for example, provides many opportunities for photography, fishing, picnics, and canoeing as well. Also located alongside the river are the ruins of Roswell's original textile mills, giving a sense of history to an otherwise ordinary trail excursion.

After a long day enjoying the city's many sights and attractions, you'll certainly want a place to relax and unwind. Some of Roswell's most popular haunts for drinks and dining can be found in converted antebellum homes. For instance, the eclectic Fickle Pickle Cafe is located in an elegant Victorian home from the 1890s. Also a popular choice is Mittie's Café and Tea Room, named after prominent Roswell resident Mittie Bulloch, the mother of former President Teddy Roosevelt.
