About Gadsden, Al

Welcome to Gadsden, Alabama, a truly southern city rich in history, beauty, charm and a friendly down home atmosphere.

The Coosa River runs through our city which gives us a lot to offer tourists and residents alike. Gadsden is host to several events such as bass fishing tournaments, the Southern Thunder Drag Boat races, and Riverfest, a weekend-long entertainment venue held in June, featuring various well-known country and rock bands, such as Clint Black, and Daughtry. Noccalula Falls is also located in Gadsden. It is a family destination that not only features a gorgeous waterfall, playground, miniature golf, train rides and primitive village, but is also known as the beginning point for the World’s Longest Yard Sale held the first weekend in August and has been featured on HGTV and TNT’s “Junkin’”.

For golf enthusiasts, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is nearby, along with many other public and private golf courses. Gadsden is conveniently located to major cities such as Birmingham, Anniston, Chattanooga, Tennessee and Atlanta, Georgia. Additionally, Gadsden is a short drive from the Talladega Speedway, a NASCAR fan’s annual destination. Downtown Gadsden, Inc. now sponsors First Friday each month, where Broad Street shuts down and the downtown is alive with vendors, vintage cars, music, shopping and food.

A wide range of homes are available in price and location, including waterfronts, brow views, golf course, and many medium and lower income values. Our housing market remains stable partly due to our area not experiencing the extreme highs other locations have.

We invite you to visit our city. We have a lot to offer and is a great place to live!
