Welcome to Glen Burnie, MD

Glen Burnie real estate is located in northern Anne Arundel County, just 15 miles north of Annapolis. The town dates back to the early 1800s, when it began as a family estate called Glennsburne. In the late 1800s it was incorporated and recognized as Glenburnie, only to have its name changed once more to Glen Burnie by the postmaster in 1930.

Today, Glen Burnie real estate is home to more than 40,000 residents. The town, whose major industry is defense technology, boasts a number of attractions, including crabbing at the Chesapeake Bay, swimming at the North Arundel Aquatic Center, hiking on the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail, and attending such popular local events as the annual Glen Burnie Carnival.

Much of the appeal of Glen Burnie real estate comes from the town’s proximity to such employment centers as Baltimore and Washington, D.C. And because it’s such a short trip to the charming waterfront city of Annapolis, water lovers and outdoor enthusiasts are also attracted to Glen Burnie real estate.
