Greenfield, WI: Tree city USA

With the abundance of beautiful parks and wooded areas it is easy to see why Greenfield has been categorized as a “Tree City USA”. Greenfield is bordered by five county parks: Barnard, Armour, Zablocki, Root River Parkway and Kulwicki; as well as eight city parks: Dan Jansen, Honey Bear, Creekwood Park, Haker, Brookside-Meadow Drive, Konkel, Pondview, and Wildcat Creek Nature Corridor. Many of these areas are kept up as well as the city’s natural image enhanced by city’s very own Greenfield Beautification Committee.

Greenfield is a true “small town” that often hosts community gatherings like parades, annual dance reviews and recitals, mini-golf outings and Greenfield Jaycees events. Greenfield, West Allis/West Milwaukee, and Whitnall school districts are all options for families living in Greenfield.

The city of Greenfield was first began development in the late 1800s, but most homes were not established until after World War II as the area began to expand. Today Greenfield has increased 800% in population and measures 11.7 square miles.
