Welcome to High Point, NC
High Point, North Carolina is internationally known as the “Furniture Capital of the World.” Every year during April and October the city holds the High Point Market that draws visitors and furniture buyers from all over the world to see the latest in furniture design. This event doubles the population of the city and fills every hotel in the whole Triad area.
You can visit the Furniture Discovery Center downtown. This is the only museum in the country dedicated to furniture design and manufacturing. In its 8,000 square feet space, there are exhibits that teach visitors about furniture history, production, style and marketing. Children will be amused by the 500 pound talking red oak tree.
In addition to being a furniture giant, High Point is also known for its cultural events. The North Carolina Shakespeare Festival is held three times a year. September and October are for Shakespeare productions and in December “A Christmas Carol.”
