About Holland, Michigan

Holland, Michigan was named in honor of the homeland of it predominant first European residents. It is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Macatawa which connects via channel to Lake Michigan. While now rich in ethnic diversity, the Dutch spirit remains strong today making Holland an ideal economic as well as cultural community. Incorporating their historic past with the dynamic present, Holland's economy thrives on the many visitors who flock to this colorful village every May for the annual 10-day event “Tulip Time” festival, which celebrates all things Dutch with flowers and festivities. Residents enjoy Holland's distinct structures, architecture, and buildings all year round including “Big Red," the lighthouse built in 1907.

Every choice of setting and every price range is available in the Holland area. Beautiful and often breathtaking homes dot the south shore of Lake Macatawa. The lakeshore also offers luxurious, affordable homes, and a mix of town houses and condominiums in a variety of settings. Stately, older homes line the historic district west of Hope College. The older residences south of downtown offer comfortable elegance.
