About Buffalo Grove, Illinois

Buffalo Grove, Illinois is the perfect combination of a small town feel with access to the big city life. Originally settled as a farming village, Buffalo Grove has grown into a bustling commercial center. The village's location has prompted several big businesses to locate there, creating the development of several large industrial parks in the 1980's. The quick access to public transportation has also made Buffalo Grove a great place for commuting workers to live. The cozy feel of the village provides a nice respite from the constant activity of the city life.

The Village of Buffalo Grove has maintained its sense of small town by keeping the traditional residential areas with tree lined streets and impeccably kept homes. The village has an extremely friendly atmosphere and has managed to overcome the challenges that it and the surrounding villages face with rapid urbanization. It was actually named one of the “Fifty Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family” in a book of the same name. Buffalo Grove is an excellent place to live with a great mix of family friendly and big city.
