Welcome to Forest Park, ILForest Park is a community that believes in providing a wide variety of recreational and social events for its residents. Spring offers the annual St. Patrick's Day parade where residents of Forest Park as well as the surrounding communities enjoy the grand parade as it marches down Madison Street. The Chamber of Commerce does a masterful job bringing area businesses, fire and police departments, churches, schools and scouts together to showcase their village and celebrate the holiday and their village.
Summer offers the annual Summerfest and 4th of July fireworks display. Live music and entertainment is featured at the Forest Park Aquatic Center and the fireworks are watched for miles around. Forest Park is especially proud of its Aquatic Center. The center features two flume slides, two drop slides, diving board, play structure and lap lanes. The park district offers many types of classes from swimming to martial arts.
The Forest Park Arts Fest gives area artists an opportunity to showcase their talents and fall brings the Rib Fest and October Fest. Amateur chefs test their culinary skills and a great time is had by all. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 winners as well as the best decorated booths.
Other social events include a Holiday Walk and the Wm. R. McKenzie Memorial Golf Outing.
