Peaceful Glenwood, IL

The village of Glenwood is located 23 miles south of the Loop. The population of the peaceful community of Glenwood remained sparse until the early 1960s. The village served as a depot for the Chicago & Eastern Railroad in the late 1800s. Civic planners have managed to retain the "main street" charm that attracted so many families to this serene atmosphere. Scenic Thorn Creek meanders through the town, adding charm and natural beauty. The forest preserve adjacent to the village expands the opportunities for biking or hiking in a lush setting. Residents can access train service to the Loop in Homewood. Glenwood is also iust two miles south of Interstates 80 and 94 and the Tri-State 294.
