Living in the Community of La Grange, IL

The Village of La Grange is a quaint, small town community located 14 miles directly west of bustling city of Chicago. With over 15,000 residents, La Grange has two Metra commuter rail line stops only 18 minutes to Chicago with easy access to Chicagoland’s major airports and expressways.

Buyers will enjoy the variety of housing options that includes many grand style homes in the historic district of La Grange. There are Victorians, Queen Anne’s, Prairie styles and newly built luxury homes, with a variety of price ranges in the community from $300,000 to over $1 million. Homes are predominantly single-family homes with architectural and historical significance. There are also several new condominium and townhome developments only blocks to the train. Homes are very well maintained and many have been restored.

La Grange’s downtown boasts smaller, locally owned quaint shops and boutiques as well as several well-known national retailers. After shopping, you can enjoy one of La Grange’s many restaurants which consist of fine dining, Italian, casual sports bars and other local favorites. La Grange also has a historic movie Theatre which has been entertaining movie-goers for over 80 years. DeVries Grocery and Meat Market’s butcher will hand cut your meat in their family run business.

La Grange is served by an excellent Public and Private educational system that is nationally recognized: Six elementary schools, two junior high schools and Lyons Township high School, three Private k-8th schools in the Village.

La Grange maintains 11 parks and a Park District facility with programs throughout the year for the residents. It also holds many special public events and festivals in the historical downtown area with your family. Art fairs, house walks, carnivals and the famous nationally recognized Pet Parade draws many thousands of visitors every year from all over the country.
