About Rockford, Illinois
Rockford, Illinois is the third largest city in Illinois, yet it has the feel of a small town. We are very proud of our award winning park system and forest preserves. There is always something to do in Rockford; we have many excellent golf courses including Aldeen Golf Club which is ranked “One of the top 50 golf courses in the US under $50” by Golf Magazine.
Squeals of delight can be heard all summer long from Magic Waters which is one of the finest water parks in the region. If indoor activities are desired, we offer the Discovery Center Museum with an abundance of hand-on interactive exhibits for kids of all ages. The Burpee Museum of Natural History features Jane the Dinosaur – the most complete juvenile T-Rex ever discovered.
You may wish to visit Anderson Japanese Gardens which has been ranked as the finest Japanese garden in North America. Another venue to visit is the Klehm Arboretum featuring an amazing variety of trees, flowers and other plants.
In the evening you can get dressed up for a fine dinner at one of our excellent gourmet restaurants and then take in a show or a concert at the opulent Coronado Theatre. If sporting events are more your taste, we offer Rockford Ice Hogs Hockey and Rockford River Hawks minor league teams.
The list goes on and on, but if you need more options, Rockford is located only about an hours drive from Chicago and Milwaukee.
