About Westchester, Illinois

Westchester is a village located about 15 miles from the center of Chicago. What were once vast acres of farmland are now home to 16,000 residents. The village itself has excellent educational systems, recreational activities and library services. The atmosphere in Westchester is a suburban haven, free from the hustle and bustle of the big city living offered in the heart of Chicago. To live in Westchester is to take advantage of the best of both worlds: enjoy a leisurely morning walk along the streets of your neighborhood followed by an afternoon of shopping at the upscale boutiques on Michigan Avenue.

If Michigan Avenue doesn't interest you, Westchester has local shops all of its own located in various regional village centers. This offers the opportunity for excellent shopping without having to either break the bank or travel too far! For water lovers, Lake Michigan is a twenty minutes' drive from the center of Westchester. Spend some time basking in the sun or enjoying water activities. Housing options in Westchester are predominately single-family homes in neighborhood community settings. Beautifully designed homes lie between well-manicured lawns and tree-lined streets.
