Franklin, Indiana is a small city found just 20 miles south of Indianapolis, which has been described as a pleasant mix of old and new. The city offers a strong manufacturing presence and is home to Franklin College, a small liberal arts school which was founded in 1834 and has over 1,000 students. The majority of the city's older homes—some of which are beautifully-restored, historic houses—are located in the downtown area, while the newer homes are concentrated on the city's north and east sides.
