The Established Community of Indian Hill, OH

This is Cincinnati’s priciest community of Indian Hill, Ohio, was once a farming area. Today, it still has some working farms, though the majority of residences are sprawling estates and mansions on vast, rolling tracts of land. Many of these elegant, executive homes are hidden from view on heavily wooded lots. Some have added amenities, such as horse barns and tennis courts. Green Acres Trust, part of the village’s incorporation, preserves the residential and rural quality of Indian Hill. In fact, more than 2,000 acres of wooded areas are village-owned to preserve the idyllic atmosphere. There’s a proposed development, to be built on the Peterloon estate, that will feature homes in the $2- to $5.5- million range. Amenities include numerous recreational opportunities and a highly regarded public school system—earning year after year “Excellent” rating from the Ohio Department of Education. The private, coed school Cincinnati Country Day, known for its outstanding academics, is located here. The city has its own water supply, fine police and fire protection; also its own public works department for waste disposal and road maintenance. Armstrong Chapel (a United Methodist Church founded in 1798), which is unique in that Episcopal and Presbyterian denominations worship here together, is here. Indian Hill was settled in 1795 and incorporated in 1941.
