Home of the University of Iowa and 30,000 graduates and undergraduates students, we are proud of academic and artistic achievement. Iowa City has been recently designated a UNESCO World Literary site, joining Sydney and Edinburgh in this honor. The University Writing Programs consistently attract teachers, students and guest of literary renown. Public readings and lectures are typical in Iowa City.

Designated Downtown Cultural Districts are both Iowa City and Coralville play vibrantly cultural life featuring music, drama and visual arts for all ages. Friday night concert on the Pedestrian Mall, Artfest and Jazzfest are long time local traditions. Art galleries, museums, libraries and theaters thrive in our community.

We are bike-friendly, park-friendly, and family friendly in Iowa City. Area schools, both public and private are rationally recognized for excellence. With one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, newcomers can except to find a wide range of housing choices from historic homes to new construction.

Iowa City and Coralville are strategically located on the “Avenue of the Saints” and are approximately equal distance from Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City and Twin Cities. We are close to two excellent regional airports in Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities.
