The City of Mission has 7 beautiful parks and playgrounds to offer its residents. Several of the parks offer softball, soccer and football fields.

The Sylvester Powell Jr. Community Center is an 80,000 square-foot family recreational facility that offers 100 classes and programs. It is an excellent site for business or social gatherings and includes the latest in audio visual technology.

Mission is in the award-winning Shawnee Mission School District.
