Westwood Hills, KS

In 1922, the J.C. Nichols Company purchased the 37.65 acres of once-Native American land. The city provides a sense of community to its citizens. On July 1, 1949 the neighborhood became the City of Westwood Hills. In 1999, the small 3rd Class City celebrated its 50th anniversary as an incorporated legal entity as well. In 1997, Westwood Hills, KS marked its 75th anniversary as a “subdivision”. Westwood Hills has a population of 378 with 173 housing units. In addition, many of the streets hosts block parties and other socializing for gathering neighbors.

Westwood Hills is served the Shawnee Mission School District, with students attending Westwood View Elementary, Indian Hills Junior High, and Shawnee Mission East High School.
