A variety of new companies have invested in Nicholasville bringing new employment opportunities in healthcare, education and manufacturing among others. It is headquarters to Alltech, an international biotechnology company operating in over 80 countries and a major employer in the area.

Nicholasville is the county seat of Jessamine County, the seventh fastest-growing county in Kentucky. Much of that growth has occurred in the northern half of the county, where home-owners are affordably enjoying the elbow-room of the countryside, surrounded by horse farms and golf courses.
