Old Jessamine County Jail
The Old Jessamine Count Jail is a restored 1870 jail and is listed on the National Register. This building also houses the local history museum.

Valley View Ferry
The Valley View Ferry shuttles cars and passengers across the Kentucky River. The main advantage of using the ferry boat is to considerably decrease commuting time. The Valley View Ferry is also a novel side-trip or weekend outing, enjoyed by all, especially young children.

Camp Nelson Heritage Park
This park is located along US 27 in southern Jessamine County, about five miles south of Nicholasville. Camp Nelson was constructed in 1863, and was a 4,000 acre, well-defended federal quartermaster and commissary depot for the area. Camp Nelson was also one of the country's largest training centers for U.S. Colored Troops.

High Bridge Park
High Bridge is a landmark that was built in 1877, and was once the highest trestle in the world. High Bridge was the first cantilever bridge in North America. High Bridge has attracted many sightseers.

Jim Beam Nature Preserve
The Jim Beam Nature Preserve is at the middle of the Inner Bluegrass Region, where the Kentucky River cuts down into the oldest rocks exposed in the state, in both Jessamine and Garrard Counties. There are many picturesque views of the Kentucky River Palisades during the fall and winter months. Wildflowers and migrating birds are plentiful in the spring.
