Leeds Center for the Arts
A grand old “movie house” in its time has been extensively renovated and is home to the Winchester Council for the Arts which has presented national touring productions and concerts. Many residents and visitors enjoy everything Leeds Center for the Arts offers.
The Bluegrass Heritage Museum
The Bluegrass Heritage Museum seeks to bring the history of central Kentucky to life by collecting, preserving and exhibiting objects valuable to the history of Winchester, Clark County, and the entire Bluegrass Region of Kentucky.
Civil War Fort at Boonesboro
A 26-acre Union Army earthen works gun emplacement located overlooking the Kentucky River intended to protect downstream areas from incursions by the Confederate Army. Focus is on the life of the soldiers who lived there.
Daniel Boone National Forest
With over 700,000 acres, Daniel Boone National Forest includes two large lakes, two large recreational areas and the 269-mile Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail. Residents and visitors can enjoy hiking, camping, picnicking, rock climbing and more.
Natural Bridge State Resort Park
This park boasts the largest natural bridge in Kentucky, with 900 tons of Paleozoic limestone suspended across a mountainside. One thousand acres of the park are a beautiful state nature preserve. This park offers lodging, recreational facilities, and marked trails for hiking.
Lower Howard's Creek
This creek has 240 acres dedicated to providing nature education, and preserving endangered and threatened species. Lower Howard's Creek also preserves and interprets an important chapter in the history of Clark County and the Kentucky Bluegrass Region. Lower Howard's Creek has guided tours only, and reservations are required.
