Welcome to Key West

Key West is the last and southernmost Key in the island chain. This 2 mile by 4 mile island with 27,000 full time residents has played host to spongers and wreckers, drug runners, fishermen and the United States Navy. Over the years the island has evolved into a wealthy little tourist town. It is drenched in history and offers every imaginable amenity. Stroll the palm-lined streets and spot the gingerbread mansions, tin roofed conch houses and Ernest Hemingway’s home. The calendar of events is non-stop; filled with festivals, fishing tournaments, and arts and entertainment. The town hosts the Parrotheads, Power Boat Races, Pride Week, and the biggest most spectacular yearly event, Fantasy Fest. The azure blue waters surrounding Key West are home to more species of marine life than anywhere else in the country. You can sport-fish for tarpon, bonefish, permit, shark and barracuda. Snapper, grouper and cobia make a great catch for dinner. Almost any restaurant will cook your catch and serve it with all the side dishes to complete your meal. If you are a late night person you can wander up and down Duval Street till the wee morning hours popping in and out of cafes and nightclubs or visit a waterfront eatery and listen to the local musicians. Key West is definitely the most entertainment filled island in the chain with cruise ships docking at the historic Key West Sea Port.
