About Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

Residents of Lake Geneva reap the benefits of an ideal location in Southeastern Wisconsin. Positioned adjacent to the pristine waters of Geneva Lake, this community is 75 miles north of Chicago and 45 miles southeast of Milwaukee. One can enjoy the serenity of small town living while still having access to several large cities. People flock to this area for the beaches at Library Park, hiking trails in Big Foot State Park, boating, golfing, boutiques, art galleries and incredible cuisine.

Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is distinctive for many reasons, including its incredible number of gorgeous historic and present-day mansions. The great Chicago fire brought numerous Chicagoans into the Lake Geneva area. Many had lost their homes and businesses in the fire and basically moved to Lake Geneva as a "short-term solution" while their homes and places of business were being re-constructed. Many people ended up staying in this area, enticed by the city's natural surroundings and solid job market that presented several job opportunities. Over the years, many beautiful homes, estates and cottages were built. At present, several of these homes still exist and can be seen along the Geneva Lake shoreline. Whether you are relocating or looking to buy a second home, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is the ideal community to visit!
