Lawrence is located in Douglas County and is conveniently situated between the larger metropolitan areas of Kansas City and the State Capital, Topeka. Lawrence is a great place to live. Lawrence is an hour from Kansas City International airport, has educated citizens and a caring community attitude. Lawrence is home to the only four year Indian College, Haskell Indian Nations University. And the Lawrence Public School system is recognized nationally year after year. Lawrence has a progressive arts community and a vibrant music scene that rivals Austin and Seattle. Our community is rich in diversity with many nationalities represented among the student and faculties of our great universities. The Lawrence park and recreation offerings will keep you busy year round.
