Welcome to Locust Grove, Virginia

Located in Orange County and in close proximity to Fredericksburg, Virginia and Washington, D.C., this area is overflowing with history. Amongst many other notable landmarks, Locust Grove was the host of 2 brutal battles of the Civil War, the Battle of Chacellorsville in 1863 and the Wilderness Campaign of 1864. Gold and iron mining as well as smelting by the area's earliest settlers were trades most popular to this historic region of central Virginia.

Lake of the Woods, a private residential community, is probably one of the most famous as well as remarkable areas of Locust Grove. Planned in 1967, the U.S. Wildlife Club purchased 2,600 acres of land to create the 500 acre lake surrounded by the prestigious homes and amenities. The community includes 3 lakes, a marina, an 18-hole golf course, playgrounds, parks and many other facilities perfect for any outdoor or indoor activity you'd like. This community continues to grow beyond its current 3000+ homes and continues to be an esteemed and incredibly desirable place to live.
