Welcome to Longboat Key, FL

Longboat Key and its sister islands St. Armand’s, Lido & Bird Keys, serve as the northern barrier islands for the Sarasota area. Bordered to the west by the Gulf of Mexico and the east by Sarasota Bay, these islands are well known for their beautiful scenery, shopping and culture. Just a short drive over the Ringling Causeway leads directly into the heart of downtown Sarasota.

Longboat Key is both an island and a chartered town. It is a very private, yet friendly community where residents enjoy a relaxed environment, beautiful water views and world-class tennis and golf facilities.

St Armand’s Circle, originally designed by circus magnate John Ringling as a shopping area for his wife and wealthy visitors, serves as the destination for anyone in search of boutique shopping, island cuisine and distinctive art stores. There is also a working confectionary where passers-by can watch candy being made and step inside the shop to sample the final product. Lido Key is known for its beautiful beaches, private beach resorts and beautiful waterfront condominiums. Bird Key is the southernmost of the islands and is comprised of a very private and luxurious enclave of waterfront properties.

Housing choices for these highly-coveted locations range from multi-million dollar condominiums and Gulf-to-Bay resorts to charming beach bungalows, cottages and impeccably manicured waterfront homes. Having earned the recognition as one of America’s wealthiest zip codes, the islands play host to seasonal/retirement residences for some of the world’s financial elite.

An abundance of activities keep the population very active. As host to the Sarasota Yacht Club, as well as numerous waterfront restaurants, championship golf courses and the Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, the islands provide the perfect tropical escape.
