Welcome to Acton, MA

Acton, Massachusetts, is located 21 miles outside of Boston, along Route 2 and near Route 495. This attractive suburban town is home to approximately 20,000 residents and combines quiet residential neighborhoods with active commercial areas. The town is divided into five villages, which maintain their distinct, historic character.

Acton maintains over 1,600 acres of conserved land, which provide trail access to forests fields, orchards, and ponds. The town is also home to the 53-acre Acton Arboretum.

Acton is proud of its highly-rated school system, which is routinely rated among the top in the state. It also offers top-notch recreational programs and cultural activities. The town’s largest recreational park, NARA Park, has an outdoor amphitheatre, swimming pond, and playing fields. The town’s recreation department offers an impressive array of sports programs, community events, and educational offerings.

There are two active community theater groups in town, and the highly-regarded Acton School of Ballet and Commonwealth Ballet Company are based in Acton.
