About Bourne, Massachusetts

Bourne, Massachusetts is a medium-sized rural area at the entryway to Cape Cod. The Cape Cod Canal divides the community, with both the Bourne and the Sagamore bridges and the lift railroad bridge all located in Bourne. The Cape Cod Canal is famous for its fabulous sport fishing, picturesque bike rides and for carrying ships flying the flags of all nations. The Bourne Scenic Park campground is located under the Bourne Bridge and is an ideal destination for those looking to enjoy the canal. Bourne has several quiet harbors and inlets for swimming and boating, and the shell fishing in the area is very enticing. Bourne is a calm community lacking the summer tourist crush experienced by some of the other Cape communities.

In early September, The annual Bourne Scallop Festival takes place and brings visitors from across the country. Additional events held annually include Cape Cod Maritime Days, Concerts in the Park and the Professional Arts & Crafts Fair – Made In USA.

Homes for sale throughout Bourne, Massachusetts differ from traditional Cape-style shingled homes to modern homes and beautiful condominiums.
