The City of Haverhill is one of the oldest historic communities in the state of Massachusetts. Located approximately 38 Miles from Boston, Haverhill offers a wide variety of land uses, ranging from rural agricultural areas to urban areas such as the city's historical industrial center.
Recreational facilities include the Haverhill Country Club and three other 18-hole golf courses, a downhill ski area, two horseback riding academies, a public skating rink and a sailing program. There are also walking, jogging, bird watching and boating opportunities available in and around the Merrimack River that winds its way through the city.
Haverhill's pubic schools are consistently ranked among some of the best in Massachusetts, while also being home to private schools, such as Sacred Hearts School and St. Joseph School of All Saints. Haverhill is also home to Northern Essex Community College.
