Welcome to Lexington, MA

Lexington is where the opening shots of the American Revolution were fired on April 19, 1775. Since that momentous event, the town has grown from a quiet farming village to a prestigious suburb of Boston and Cambridge. The town of approximately 30,000 residents offers a first-rate school system and a mix of historic homes and newer single-family homes set in quiet, leafy neighborhoods. The downtown area is vibrant with shops and restaurants situated around the famed Battle Green.

Lexington has a dynamic downtown and draws shoppers and diners from neighboring communities. Some of Lexington’s most desirable neighborhoods feature architecturally interesting homes dating from the Colonial era through the early 20th century and are an easy walk to the downtown area.

Lexington is well situated for commuters to jobs in Metro-West Boston and downtown Boston and Cambridge. The town borders the Route 128 high tech corridor as well.
