Welcome to Amherst, Massachusetts! Amherst is best known as home to the University of Massachusetts, Amherst College and Hampshire College. Two other points of interest for Amherst are the Norwottuck Rail Trail that encompasses an 11 mile path that links Amherst with Hadley and Northampton and also an Amtrak railroad station for convenient commuting.
