About Springfield, MA

Springfield, known at the City of Homes, was founded in 1636. It is the third largest city in Massachusetts and nationally known as the home of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Residents in the City of Homes enjoy the typical four seasons of New England with a variety of arts and entertainment offerings including: CityStage, the Dr.Seuss National Memorial, The Museum of Fine Arts, the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum, a nearby Six Flags Amusement Park in Agawam, the Springfield Science Museum, and the Zoo in Forest Park.

Springfield is conveniently located just north of Hartford, Connecticut and Bradley International Airport and within three hours of New York City. Boston and Worcester, Massachusetts are easily reached along the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Springfield is also home to several colleges with outstanding full and part-time undergraduate and graduate programs. Western New England College and School of Law, American International College, Springfield College, and Springfield Technical Community College. The University of Massachusetts, Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, Elms College, Holyoke Community College, Westfield State College and Bay Path College are among those just a short drive away.
