Damascus real estate is located in northern Montgomery County at the intersection of Routes 27 and 108. The town is far from overdeveloped and, in fact, remains fairly rural. As a result, Damascus offers a wide array of outdoor recreational opportunities, from 4-H clubs and equestrian centers to the Magruder Trail and nearby Butler’s Orchard. And each year, the town hosts the Damascus Community Fair, which celebrates Damascus’s proud agricultural history.
Although this modest town is home to only 12,000 Damascus real estate owners, it enjoys the ample amenities provided by the surrounding county, which include 13 Metro stations, five parks, and a nationally recognized public school system boasting a 90% graduation rate. Damascus High School, which is known for its excellent academics, also offers one of the area’s top athletic programs; since 1990, it has won an impressive 19 state championships. This, combined with the town’s comparably lower home prices, makes Damascus real estate a great investment, not just for families but also for retirees.
