Welcome to Kensington, MD

Kensington is located in Montgomery County, just outside the Capital Beltway along Connecticut Avenue. Its thriving commercial district offers Kensington real estate owners a wealth of amenities, including shops, restaurants, and two antique districts. Warmer months bring the popular Saturday morning Farmer’s Market, housed in the town’s historic train station. Kensington’s youths, meanwhile, are served by three elementary schools, two middle schools, and three high schools, as well as two private schools. In addition, the Noyes Library for Young Children is located on Kensington real estate.

The town’s origins, first as a modest agricultural community and later as a stop along the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, are still meticulously preserved by the Kensington Historical Society. The town’s historic district, complete with a Victorian-era garden, attracts visitors and Kensington real estate owners alike. Today, though, Kensington is mostly known as a bedroom community of Washington, D.C. Thanks to the town’s Maryland Area Rail Commuter (MARC) train station, on the Brunswick Line, getting to and from the capital is easy. This makes Kensington real estate as popular among business professionals as it is among families with school-age children.
