Welcome to Kent Island, MD

At four miles wide, Kent Island is the largest island in the Chesapeake Bay and the oldest English settlement in the state. It is bisected by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and is book-ended by two tributaries, the Chester River and the Eastern Bay.

Kent Island is located in Queen Anne’s County, one of the nine counties that make up Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and is home to two notable communities, Chester and Stevensville. Kent Island real estate owners enjoy a relaxed pace of life replete with fresh seafood and such maritime activities as boating and fishing. Sight-seeing, hiking, and biking are also big attractions; both Cross Island Trail, part of the American Discovery Trail, and the Chesapeake County Scenic Byway can be accessed from Kent Island real estate.

The island’s population numbers close to 17,000, and many consider Kent Island to be a suburb of the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area. As a result, a number of business professionals invest in Kent Island real estate and then use the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to commute to their workplace. But the island is just as popular among seniors and retirees, who can appreciate the unparalleled scenery offered Kent Island’s waterfront homes.
