Welcome to Kentland, MD

More than 2,000 homes make up the New Urban community of Kentlands, located in the city of Gaithersburg. Originally a wheat farm known as Wheatlands, the parcel of land drew attention for being one of the few remaining undeveloped spaces in the Rockville area. By 1988, the property was purchased by a local developer and was underway to becoming one of the most successful New Urban communities in the nation.

Today, Kentlands real estate is home to wide selection of neighborhoods and one million square feet of commercial space. Adding to the town’s appeal is its natural beauty, evident in the many green spaces, pocket parks, and lakes that dot the landscape. It boasts its own paper, the Kentlands Town Crier, and its own post office, Kentlands Station. In addition, Kentlands real estate owners also enjoy a wealth of popular events, from the Kentlands Oktoberfest to the town’s annual Labor Day Bash, and are active members of the community. Kentland’s modest commercial district comprises shops, restaurants, an ice rink, and a popular cinema café. And two on-site public schools, Rachel Carson Elementary School and Lakelands Park Middle School, serve Kentland’s youths. This makes Kentlands real estate popular among families with young children, as well as retirees, who enjoy the community’s relaxed pace of life and quiet, winding streets.
