Welcome to Hagerstown, MD

Hagerstown is located in Western Maryland and is the seat of Washington County. Despite its mostly rural setting, the city is a major commercial center, thanks in large part to its accessibility; several interstates, bus and rail lines (including connection to the red line of the Metro), and the Hagerstown Regional Airport add to Hagerstown’s reputation as “Hub City.” Consequently, the city is a popular relocation destination for commuters to the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area. In and around Hagerstown itself, both tourism and agriculture contribute to the local economy.

Hagerstown’s population of 40,000 enjoys a wide variety of amenities, from professional sports games and theater performances to festivals, parks, and historic sites. The city’s youths are served by more than 15 public and private high schools as well as six colleges. This, in addition to the ongoing efforts of the members of Hagerstown’s Neighborhoods 1st program, has encouraged many families to relocate to Hagerstown. This has only added to real estate values over the years, making the city an ideal long-term investment.
