Welcome to Prince Frederick, MD

Prince Frederick is a town of less than 2,000 people located in Calvert County. Its main thoroughfare is Solomons Island Road, which ultimately connects the community to both Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Despite its modest size, Prince Frederick does offer a number of amenities, including Battle Creek Cypress Swamp, the Arthur Storer Planetarium, the nearby Patuxent Camp Grounds, and the Breezy Point Beach and Campground. It is also home to both Calvert High School and the Calvert Branch of the College of Southern Maryland. In the mid-1980s, the town was designated a county “town center” and was rezoned to prevent urban sprawl. Today, both families and commuters relocate to Prince Frederick to enjoy its small-town atmosphere and proximity to the Chesapeake Bay.
