Welcome to Centreville, MD

Located 17 miles from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Centreville has become the place to live for Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington DC Commuters. With a population of 2,974, median home price of $314,900 and median income of $68,515, Centreville offers the quiet charm of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Centreville, incorporated in 1794 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004, is the county seat for Queen Anne’s County’s. The Court House, built in 1796 is ranked as the only court house in continuous use in Maryland and sixth in the Nation. The front of the courthouse is adorned by the only known sculpture of Queen Anne to be located outside the United Kingdom. It was dedicated in 1977. Queen Anne’s County Historical Society operates Wright’s Chance, a 1744 plantation style home and Tucker House, a 1704 example of Federal Period architecture.

Late nineteenth century merchant, Captain John Ozman, used Centreville’s wharf to transport goods between Centreville, Baltimore and Norfolk. He built a waterfront store, lodge and four captain’s houses to accommodate the crews of his vessels. These homes were restored under the national register designation and remain on the hill overlooking Corsica Creek.

With its excellent public schools, historical homes and beautiful farmlands, Centreville is the perfect place to live.
